I just got it. It's awesome. Lots of little things. The interface is Jagwire-ized and looks sweet, a band that has a "the" as the first word is place in its proper place (i.e., The Rolling Stones goes under "r" in your library lists), The audio level thinger works perfectly, and the start system is cool. Even shows you the last time you played a song.
I'm kinda leery of the "My Ratings" feature. For starters, I thought I'd escaped from the "My Something" crap when I made the switch. Then there's the description:
Assign rating points (on a scale of 1 to 5) to each song in your library. Then you can sort your favorite music - and even see those songs you don't like - at a glance.
OK, so sorting by rating I can see maybe being useful in some circumstances, but do I really need a program to remind me which songs I do/don't like? Is this for people with long-term memory problems or something?
"Hmm, do I like this song or not? I'd better check iTunes to see if I should be listening to it or not..."
Let's say that you wanted to burn an mp3 CD of some of your favorite songs from your favorite to your least favorite. You give each song a rating, then use the rating tab (if active) to sort the songs going in order of rating. (Audion has a similar option, by the way. Yes, I know, what's Audion? )
I'm sure there are other purposes, but just iChill for a minute to think about why something like this would be included. Here's a bottle of pepsi blue. Enjoy!
