Folders are great, don't get me wrong, but am I missing something?

My playlists are organized like so: [Artist Name] — [Album]
(without the "[]" brackets)

I have a huge number of playlists, and that means in order to make, for example, a "U2" folder, I get to drag each U2 playlist individually ALL the way up to the top to drop it into a folder. That's fine for one artist, but it becomes various tedious, and I honestly don't have the time to keep doing that for other artists/collections.

So my question is this: is there any way to do this quicker? Or am I stuck dragging each playlist one-by-one up to the folders I create?

Anyone else frustrated by this, or am I the only one?

thoughts and opinions please.

Thanks,
-Nate

Yeah, I don't se why you might want to organize your folders into Artists, as you can easily access them via browse.

Have you considered using the Browse button to access all Album-Artist combos without having to make a playlist for every album?

Ya, that's true — Honestly I'd never thought of that. Sometimes though Artists names can be different and/or grouped together (i.e. U2, U 2, U2 Collection, Bono, etc.) when you download the names from the online database. So that can be frustrating in and of itself.

I guess I'm just picky.

Nonetheless I wish there was a faster way to add playlists to folders!

thnx,

I agree with you JamSoft, I organize my playlists the exact same way and it's frustrating you can't select more than one playlist at a time.

in those cases just do a smartlist with the variants, and use the browser (apple-B) for most cases

This is sort of related...the thing that is really bugging me about Folders is that, while you can now give two or more playlists the same name (it's about time), there is no way to tell which one is which when browsing them in a list (such as in the "Playlist [is|is not]" list in a Smart Playlist's parameters). They all appear in straight alphabetical order, with folders mixed in, instead of being grouped by folders with indenting or something. (Granted that could get ugly with multiple levels of nested folders, but surely Apple could come up with something.)

best thing to do is just to fix tags as you download/import songs into iTunes. The first time it will take you awhile, but it's worth it.

Being able to browse through the regular browse window is much better, even if you could set up playlists like you wanted.

I must be pickier, as I double-check that everything looks exactly the same. All tunes by the fab four are under "The Beatles" not "Beatles" ... etc.

I'm a fan of the "browse" feature...
