I recently updated to itunes 5.0 and I can't get it to work. I noticed some people has been getting problems. Everytime I opened itunes, I get the following error message:

The ordinal 140 could not be located in the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll

How can I get this problem resolved. Need help ASAP.

Is this on XP? ..... more info required....

I'm guessing it's Windows with a .DLL problem. It's probably a conflict with another program which also uses the MAPI32.DLL file. I know this doesn't help though, sorry.

The only viable long-term tip to prevent these kind of issues I can give you is to stop using Windows and go buy a Mac. The entire dll system is flawed by design anyways.

Yep, I have no idea where to start fixing this problem since the other app(s) using this same DLL really could be anything. Head to your nearest Apple Store for more information on getting a functional computer. :)

What's odd is that it is looking for something in MAPI. AFAIK MAPI32 is the dll for mail ( Mail Application Program Interface 32(bit) )?????

.....oh, it's syncs with outlook now doesn't it.... nevermind

Ah, so maybe it's a problem with another app that also syncs with Outlook such as a Palm device or maybe a phone. Even if we find the piece of software that's causing the problems, I'm not sure what to do from there. :(

I am running on Window XP

I am running on Window Xp, the funny thing is, when I have iTunes 4.9 everything was working perfectly fine until I downlaoded 5.0 and everything doesn't work. NEED HELP!!!

5.0 introduced syncing with Outlook (Express) which is your problem AFAIK. Sorry, but all the links I've got to iTunes 4.9 redirect me to 5.0 which really sucks.

I can get it privately from my ISP but it won't let me give you the link. It's 21MB too, so I'm not sure how well it'll email, if at all. It may be worth a try though.
