I just installed iTunes 5. When I right click and do a "Get Info" on any song iTunes crashes.

Anyone had this problem and is there a fix?

P...

Earlier today I tried to open iTunes 5 and it quit before it even opened. The standard Tiger "unexpectedly quit" box came up and I clicked Reopen. It crashed again. Same box popped up, only this time it gave me the option to "retry" by first automatically resetting iTunes' preferences, so I clicked that. Crashed again. Forth time, crashed again. So I started redownloading the iTunes installer to reinstall it. Before the download was done, I clicked on iTunes again and it started right up. I don't know why it wouldn't work four times in a row, but it seems to be working fine now. I'm thinking maybe Apple has some bugs to work out of this release. I don't think they do .01 releases of iTunes, so I guess we'll have to wait until 5.1.

I haven't had this problem, sounds like a problem with your machine. Maybe you couold repair the permisions?

I'll try anything, how do I repair the permisisons? Sometimes the get info works and sometimes it doesn't. This all started when I upgraded to 5.

You can repair permissions from the Disk Utility in the Utilities folder within your Applications folder however I'm not sure that it will do all that much good in this case.

Maybe start by deleting your iTunes preferences. Go to Spotlight and find all files with iTunes and PLIST in them. Remove them from their folders (delete if you want) and if the problem isn't fixed, you can simply put them back to where they were and everything will be back to how it is now.

However, I recommend just deleting them anyway. It doesn't take long to readjust iTunes back to your preferred settings. :)

mine keep on freezing when i had my ipod docked even if it was "ejected" (charging) very annoying.... so now i only sync my ipod when i need to..
