Hi there,

I was wondering if you could help with my iTunes 5 problems...

Well, every time I fire up iTunes on Windoze XP (*hides*), it brings me to the liscence agreement page thingy. I click "Accept", and about a minute later the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message pops up like so...

I've tried installing and running iTunes on another account - funny enough it actually fires up but that dreaded message pops up again after a few seconds. The longest time i've managed to stay on it was about 3 minutes.

I'm really really stuck...possibly someone could lend me a hand before I'm forced to switch back to Windows Media Player!?

Cheers

Lloyd

When you fire up iTunes, I assume that you already have a music library that you have set it to use? Does it crash in your new user account while you are playing songs, or when it is sitting idle?

I'm thinking, if this crash isn't hardware related, it may have to do with a corrupt song or corrupt library file.

Otherwise, since you are on WinXP, it could be a bad registry setting from a previous install of iTunes, or a dll file that has gone awry. There are lots of possibilities. Does iTunes keep a crash log on WinXP? If it does, it may give us some insight on how to proceed.

Check out the songs or library files first, then post back, and we'll try to work from there.
