Are you running Sizzling Keys, or similar?

If not then try the usual bag of tricks, starting with repairing permissions and maybe even try installing from another (admin) account (make one if needed). :)

mines downloaded, and working,, it did say something about the ability to play downloaded videos from the itms, but i missed, it was about a quicktime version. Ive got the pro version 7.0.2. I think its after 7.0.4, but there's no update that i can find on apple.com, or via quicktimes own updater or mac os x own updater.. so the Pixar short cartoon i just downloaded plays, but the screens just grey, no sound either.

Any one else have this problem, all my other movies play, including the free couple ie had from iTunes when ive purchased an album

Did you try here?

I haven't tried it, because I've yet to find a reason to upgrade to 7 and repay my quicktime pro fee.

Is it just me...

... or was iTunes 5 barely out for a month before 6 superceded it? Why did pple bother with such a short lifespan for 5? Why not skip it altogether?

And another thing. The colour iPods were also out for what - 2 months? And now they've been replaced too. What's the big plan Steve - all that investment in design and manufacturing for such a short-lived product?

For iTunes 6, probably so they can release iLife '06 with iTunes 6 (keeping consistent)...this just provided a convenient excuse to jump to 6.

As for the iPods, for all we know, there could simply be a secret switch that allows iPods to mutate new features as long as they're in the same case. Either way, I think the need-to-be-on-the-cutting-edge mentality of many people more than makes up for the investment.

I can't figure out how to play the preview. I double click on the episode and nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Is there a preview button there? I clicked on that and saw what I was wanting to see.

Sounds like they've made changes to the DRM infrastructure (to stop jhymn from getting keys?). It's probably still the same underlying FairPlay DRM, or they would need updated iPod firmware, just a different way of authorizing/delivering keys.

EDIT: I should add I have not used jhymn, but it is nice to know that such a thing exists/works.
