Having just installed iTunes 8.0, I now get the following message when syncing my iPhone:

An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?

I'm not quite curious enough to try it, but I was wondering if anyone knew what it was all about.

I have an unlocked/pwned 2G iPhone from the US on the O2 network in Ireland.

I got the same message yesterday just before the launch of iTunes 8, i tried updating but i think, thanks to bad internet connection, some error came and didnt update.

Today morning i have updated to iTunes 8, havent synced the phone yet will sync in the evening when i get back from work and post if the message comes again.

Am on AirTel India on 2.02 upgraded firmware.

You're braver than I am smurfjammer, but based on your success, I did it too. My phone seems fine...

Thanks!
