From my brief perusal of my iPhone's iPod app after the update, noticed the following has been fixed:

  • Compilations showing correctly in Album view (instead of being one album per track as before)

Still outstanding:

  • Smart playlists STILL cannot be ordered by date. So, for instance if I set up a playlist of the last 50 podcasts I've downloaded, the one that appears on my iPhone contains the 50 oldest!
  • Scrolling in Podcast view is still VERY choppy. Only a cosmetic bug, but looks rubbish.

So, well done Apple. Only been waiting for these fixes since iTunes 9 was released last autumn! I even sent a bug report to them back then.

Obviously they're too busy setting up a book store. They don't make money out of podcasts, after all...

  • This is an iPhone problem... it started in 3.0 beta 2.. beta 1 was fine.
