There is a possibility of a problem updating to 9.1, which I had this morning. And unfortunately, you need 9.1 to make any use at all of the iPad. As it turns out, if your system won't update, you basically need to remove iTunes from your system, reinstall 9.0.3, and then update to 9.1. There is a discussion thread in discussions.apple.com which details the process.

I had the same problem yesterday and called apple support. after 30 mins on the phone, they couldn't fix the issue and told me to take it (mac pro) in to a store. So after unplugging everything and hauling it down to the store; they reconnected everything (in store) everything worked just fine, without them doing anything, it just worked:confused: So I went home and reconnected everything and I had no problem. don't know if it's because the machine was unplugged from power for a long time, but you might want to try unplugging it for 5 or t10 mins first......it helped me. I was able to download 9.1 afterwards with no problem.
