My first compliant,,,,
So I plug in my iPhone to sync some new movies in as I always do.

Now when I go to the movies tab in iTunes for my iPhone it now loads ALL the movies .jpg pics. I men it looks nice but I have over 1,350 movies so now when I want to load in a new movie or 2, and I do this every other day or so, it takes about 4-5 minutes for it to load them up. While it is loading them up it is also locking me out of using iTunes.

Like I said its nice and all but man what a waste of my time every time I have to use it. I really wish there was a View option to change it back to just a list for the sake of time.

anyone else notice this ?????

One thing you could do is to check the 'Manually Manage music and videos' and then just add or delete movies by dragging them from the iTunes movie folder to the iPhone's movie's folder.

I agree they should allow you to look at your list using a list, preview or coverflow like you can in the library itself.

Although I do notice that they allow you to use playlists for movies/tv shows now. You could make a 'Movies to watch' playlist and add the movies you want to sync in it, then sync that playlist.

1,350 movies. Oh wow. I don't even have that many songs.. Your hard drive must be gigantic.

Have 2 - 500 gig drives a 1 - terabyte drive...

I cant get it to not load the moives ... even with a playlist it wants to access them all ....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........

One of the disadvantages to being a pirate, I s'pose. :D

LOL... nah ... we actually own them.

We got the Apple TV's in the house to eliminate the library of DVD's. We have about 7-8 Egg boxes full of our DVD collection. I always liked having a backup copy.

I call BS! 1350 x $10 (per movie) = $13,500 on movies?

Dude, I hope you pirated all those. :)

LOL... eh' ... some were 19.99 and some were 5/10 used ....

either way with a growing collection put on iTunes its just going to take longer and longer to load when i want to put them on an iPhone

I think you should try to manage the movies manually then. You don't even need to use the sync tab for movies at all.

Might want to send feedback to Apple about this. Right now they seem to be assuming people have small movie libraries, but that will change.

For the record I have about 1200 DVDs myself, but I only have a few dozen converted for iPhone use (basically convert what I need when I need it). Don't know if I'll ever do something like converting the entire library.

How would I do that ?

See they are synced in iTunes so we can stream them throughout the house on our Apple TV's.

Are you saying there is a way to limit the # of movies the iPhone can access once I plug it in and update it with new media ?

Thanks

In iTunes, select your iPhone. The first tab has a checkbox labeled 'Manually manage music and movies'. The first time you do this it may remove all your existing movies and music from the iPhone. I think you can goto the music tab and relselect it there to sync your music as before and still manually manage the videos.

Then you can expand your iPhone with the + next to the iPhone name.

You'll see a folder for movies. Drag whatever movies you want to copy to the iPhone from your iTunes movie folder to the iPhone's Movie folder and they'll be copied to the iPhone.

wow, 1300 movies?

im thinking thats whats causing the lag? thats alot to even go through let alone load up through itunes hehe.
