I live in Sweden and have a Swedish Apple-ID. However, on my MBP, I used my second US account to buy a movie that was only available in the US store. Accidentally, I clicked ok in some confirmation dialog when downloading the movie and now when I switch back to my main Swedish account I get some error saying the I have to wait 90 days (which means I can not access my iTunes Match library).

I contacted the support but they claimed that they could not resolve the issue.

Of course I can still access the iTunes match library from my phone and ipad etc but I use my MBP to manage my iTunes match library. If i reformat the disk and reinstall the OS, will that help? Or will I still be locked out for 90 days?

Reformatting/resetting will not solve it. I had it happen to me and the iTunes support rep solved it for me on my iPhone in about 20 minutes. Maybe try calling them again?
