I'm looking to find a good music player for my mom. She is severely handicapped and her eyesight is not good. The iPad has served as being her window to the world, and the freedom to carry around her own "jukebox" with her wherever she is, is quite a significant part of maintaining a decent life for her. And here's the problem; While iTunes has served her well for almost a decade, the last few updates have become a usability and accessibility disaster and render the app almost useless in its current iteration. The iTunes GUI is confusing, inconsistent, irritating, and illogical.

In essence, I'm looking for a basic music player that has the most basic functionalities:

- simple overview of artists, albums, and songs
- smart GUI in terms of usability and accessibility

That's pretty much it. For her it's just important that she can play her music and easily find what she is looking for with as little hassle as possible. If the old iPods had a bigger display, the GUI on those would have been exactly what I'm looking for. Those interfaces were super easy to use and to the point.

I'm looking forward to any suggestions and pointers you have.

Thank you!
