iTunes and Apple Store format

I bought a season of a show from Apple on iTunes and downloaded several episodes to my mac mini. If I try to watch them through iTunes on the mac mini I get a message that the format isn't supported. However, if I try to watch them from the iTunes library from my apple tv they play fine. Is this how its supposed to be?

I am guessing that this is because you have not authorized your Mac Mini to play iTunes media. Apple allows 5 computers be authorized for each iTunes account.
