Perhaps ,the update 12.7.3 on Sierra, but iTunes no longer deletes songs from external drive..

They disappear, but i can re-add them as they still exist.. However if i move songs to internal SSD, and delete from itunes you get an additional *second* popup "Keep files" or "delete"

In the first screenshot i don't get the option to move to trash,,, The second screenshot if songs from internal SSD.

How can i fix this? As i wish my songs to be on external but also able to remove even from disk. and not just removed from library.

Seems Apple's changed the way it handles underlying files which are not in iTunes Media folder, so entire iTunes folder must be on external and your music within iTunes Media.. if u want to be able to permanently removed from hard disk from within iTunes.

That's stuffed me a tad... because i want music outside this folder...

"Basically, iTunes considers anything located outside of your iTunes Media folder to be outside of its control, and therefore simply leaves it where it is and doesn't even offer to delete it for you."
