iPod iTunes and iCal both broken about iPod synch

Hi there -- Both my iTunes and iCal repeatedly display the "quit unexpectedly" message, after I synched with my iPod touch earlier today. I can't use either of the programs now. Any idea how to fix them? THANKS, much appreciated.
