I'm having a small issue with my iPod mini. The ipod itself works just fine and I store all my music in it (I don't store any on the computer). But the moment I connect via USB to my iBook, and play the music through iTunes, music stutters for my songs every couple seconds.

I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Is my USB connection too slow for the bitrate of the songs? (I rip my some cds at 256). It doesn't seem to happen to all songs, and it's not at any specific location it happens.

Does this happen to anybody else or is this an issue with my iPod?

It sounds like a problem to do with the way USB works (I do hope you're using USB 2!). If it's a big deal, try quitting apps, restarting (are you using a Mac or PC) If you're using a Mac, get (or borrow) firewire cable and see if that helps.
You just don't get this issue with firewire (Which I still maintiain is faster in the real world).
Hope you sort it out, If not, get any of the plethora of iPod speakers (or unplug the PC speakers and shove them in the iPod) and listen that way, only connection to the computer to organise tracks.
Hope this is some help.

Honestly, just rip it to an external HD... the iPod is an okay solution, but you need to be able to connect it quickly...

For a mac, try firewire.
