itunes and limewire

i have a problem....i'm on a uni network....

i downloaded limewire a while ago...for....legal...uses

now i have someone elses name on my itunes on a playlist....wtf is going on

see the attached picture for what i mean

i have 2 questions....

i want it off there, how do i make it disappear....and why is it coming up with someone elses name

i also have deleted limewire in an effort to make it go away.....

i hope i didn't need it

A friend's iBook was doing this. If iTunes and Limewire were open at the same time, Limewire would make a playlist in iTunes.

There was an iTunes pane in the preferences window, and you can turn off all the options to make Limewire sync with iTunes.

Fortunately though, the story had a happy ending. I was able to channel my inner Steve's RDF, and convince her to ditch Limewire for the iTMS.

but i deleted limewire and now i can't download it again cause it's blocked by the uni network

do you know why someone elses name is coming up in MY itunes.....

Blue playlist "stacks" are located on someone else's machine on the network. Bonjour makes them show up in your iTunes. Turn off "Look for shared music" in your iTunes prefs under the Sharing section to make it go away.

It's an Apple networking protocol that automagically finds services on the local network. In this case, it found a shared iTunes playlist that someone else on your network is offering.
