itunes and usb symbol?

I could not get my iTunes to show up on the apple tv.
I rebooted the computer and reset up home sharing

nothing

I noticed then there was an update to be installed

so I did that and during the reboot process I got the symbol of the iTunes and the usb image

Does this mean I have to get a micro usb and connect it to my computer and then start iTunes and restore it?
Will this affect anything else?

Ya, it means the update failed. You should be able to restore from iTunes pretty easily once you get the right USB cable. It will only reset your ATV, your iTunes library will be unaffected.
