Can someone please help me figure out why, ever since upgrading to iTunes 7.7.1, the Applications section of iTunes is reporting that there is "1 update available" for my installed applications, but upon clicking the notice to retrieve the update, it then shows that there are updates available for every single one of my 60+ installed applications...

I've proceed to install all 60+ alleged updates, but upon doing so, iTunes still reports that there is 1 update available and clicking that notice still brings me to the iTunes store which still shows that there are 60+ updates available (even though I just went through the process of downloading/installing the updates?

How can I get it to correctly report the number of available updates, because if this issue presists, the update notification feature is basically pointless for me.

Thanks!

This problem is getting worse and worse.

From my own experience, and reading here and on Apple's forums, this problem seems to be compounding. I wonder if it has anything to do with all the multiple copies of the same app that are getting saved to the PC/Mac? I'm up to five copies of some of my apps. I'm afraid to delete the old ones because I fear another bricking of my phone. The worst one went two days before I was finally able to get it to restore through iTunes.

I hope Apple is paying some people OT to work over the weekend on iTunes 7.7.2 and iPhone software 2.1. I've been a happy Mac user for seven years, and Apple has always been pretty quick to plug holes. I've never seen anything this bad from them, though.

wow. after reading this thread and checking iTunes, i have the same problem. iTunes says i have 1 update, the update page says that 5 of my 9 apps have updates, and when i click update, it just redownloads all the apps, repeat

there are multiple threads on all of the message boards about the app updating problems. today i went to the apple store to speak with some people there. of course, they NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. either they are really clueless, or specifically told not to admit there is a problem. I love my phone, but this secrecy crap from Apple is just unacceptable.

After trying out ever imaginable solution to the problem, I finally resolved the issue...

Unfortunately, there was no 'magic-pill' set of steps that I can offer...it was merely a matter of tinkering with it long enough...

I updated/installed (all 60+) Apps over and over...
I logged out of my iTunes account, then back in...
I deauthorized my computer as one of my 5 iTunes authorized machine, then reauthorized it...
I restarted my iPhone, iTunes, and my computer...
I ran disk utility to repair permissions, and also ran a battery of other maintenance/repair processes using the third-party app Cocktail...
etc, etc...

finally, out of the blue...I stopped getting the '1-Update-Available' notice and the subsequent 60+ updates that would appear when choosing to update...

Hope this info helps others resolve their similar issues!
