Hi

My iTunes software is up-to-date My iPhone 7 Plus software is up-to-date my laptop windows 10 software is up-to-date when I Connect My iPhone to my laptop windows 10 and open up iTunes and try to do a backup I get backup corrupt. I go in to iTunes preferences devices to delete the backup but there is no backup in there to delete. Is there a different way to fix this ? Thank you very much for any help on this c

Check the folder "%appdata%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" on your PC. Are there any files there? If so, delete them, and see if iTunes will then let you do a backup.

Can you post a screenshot of iTunes window with the error message please? Also, any chance there's an iCloud backup in progress when you do a local backup?

Hi Jetsam i’m trying to type that folder name they gave me but it’s coming up empty and I can’t find it. Is there another way to locate this folder? Thank you very much

If you copy-and-paste everything between the quotes into the File Explorer (aka, "This PC"), it should take you to the backup folder. If it is missing, then there are no backups - even corrupted ones.

Hi Jetsam this is what I am getting

You are entering it in the wrong place. You need to enter it in the file explorer.

From the Windows Desktop, hold down the Windows Key and the "E" key. This will open the file explorer. In the address bar, enter "%appdata%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup"

Hi Jetsam this is how I have it Typed in and this is what I get.

Thanks for the screen! Yeah, there's a chance that issue comes from an old corrupted backup.

Try to find the Backup folder manually through File Explorer, it should be at C:\Users\*your user name*\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup. Anything there?

Note that 'AppData' folder can be hidden, so you may need to check 'Show hidden folders' in Properties. Let me know if there will be any issues.

Hi Minorite thank you very much for your help. Sorry I am not Computer smart. I really don’t understand what your telling me to do. I go in to file explorer at the top right corner search quick access. To type that in Buddy comes up empty. so I will have to wait to find someone that understands more than I do or take it somewhere to computer store and see if they can fix it. I am sorry I cannot do what you are telling me I just don’t understand

Sorry for the delay! " C:\Users\*your user name*\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup " is just a path to a folder. Open File Explorer, open 'This PC' (not Quick Access, This PC is slightly lower), open C:\ drive, then 'Users' folder, then a folder with your username, then AppData and so on.
