Before I say anything, I'm just going to say that this is my first post on Mac Rumors. I've been looking around the forums for a while, so, today I decided to join. I'm sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section, but I felt that this was the correct one.

Anyways.
I was all excited that I was going to get an iPod Touch soon (Probably when the 3rd generation models come out). So I was looking into all the applications that I wanted to buy and load onto my iPod Touch. Now, in my mind, I assumed that you could use iTunes gift cards to buy applications. But when I googled around to make sure, I found out that you couldn't. This was also confirmed by my friends.

I don't own a credit card, but I have the money to buy applications. The problem is, iTunes gift cards don't work in the Canadian App Store. So, I did some more research, and I found and alternative, Vanilla Pre-Paid Mastercards.

My question is, has anyone used Pre-Paid Mastercards in the Canadian iTunes store before to buy applications. I'm asking this because I wanted to make sure it actually works before I buy one and end up not being able to use it.

Thanks,
DrawnToLife

Also, would you recommend me making a US account, or not taking that risk.

I can't answer your question but I will warn you about something that really pissed me off. Don't buy an iTunes card at the store. I bought one because I didn't want to put my CC on iTunes yet and you can't buy apps with it in Canada. I had to put my CC in iTunes and have 50$ worth of iTunes points to spend on stuff I don't want.

Yeah, that's the part that I'm worried about. Because, I don't really buy songs, I borrow CD's and get the songs, so I don't need to buy them.
But I know that an iTunes gift card won't work in the Canadian App Store, so I'm kind of stuck.

I've read 3 or more articles that you can set up an account with a Vanilla Prepaid Mastercard, but has anyone done this? Because, I don't want to buy one and realize that it doesn't work. Then again, there's more things you can do with the Prepaid Mastercard, but that's not the point.

I was thinking about trying to do this once I get my iPod Touch.
Going down to the Apple Store and getting them to install the applications for me. And paying with cash or something, so I don't have to use a Credit Card.
