iTunes cd burn help!!

ok i use Windows XP, i upgraded from iTunes4.9 to iTunes 5 because when i try to burn CD's it says "Disc burner or software not found". i downloaded patchburn also but it didnt work!. someone please help and ill be very grateful.:( what do i do to make it read CD's?
