I've spent hours in iTunes this evening trying to fix compilations.
In the past the way I dealt with compilations was that I entered a 'Artist Name' for each song and left 'album artist' completely blank while I checked the compilations checkbox. To say this only works patchy now would be an understatement. I've finally after hours of testing and re-entering meta data managed to sort out the mess. Just out of interest, which way does Apple want us to deal with compilations?
I am now however left with a situation where some artist pages show compilations in a random order. See case of Beyoncé:
View > Sort Album By > Year (Descending) is selected, yet the 2008 OST for 'Cadillac Records' shows up on top of Lemonade when the 2015 '50 Shades of Grey OST' slots in perfectly.
Am I missing something very obvious?
I'm on Mac OS 10.11.5 running iTunes 12.4.0.119
I'd appreciate any sort of help.
