Hello.

The computer with the sync for my iPad died hard..dead mb. The hard drive is fine...pulled some data off already.

I have backed up my iPad to another computer temporarily...and I hope to get my primary laptop that crashed back online. But it could be weeks.

So, I have two questions.

1) when I try to sync with the new computer it seems to imply that it is going to replace the contents of the pad with what is on the iTunes of the computer. It looks like the apps are there...but I am not sure what I am looking at.

2) if I buy an app, and install it to my pad directly, and I end up having to start from scratch, will I get to reinstall the app with out having to pay for it again?

Thanks!

I don't get the joke? Sorry.

Anybody know the answer? Specifically I want to buy atomic browser after using the lite for the past week.

Thanks!

I guess you didn't know the market dropped 1000 points yesterday.

Mother Board Fried #2

I am in the same boat! Got my iPad 64 gb 3G Friday, and Sunday night my sync computer crashed with a dead mother board ( I think the Dell was reading my mind, I've been thinking of getting an iMac).
Luckily I had purchased the extended warranty, but it may be up to 3 weeks before I get it back. So far I have not tried syncing it to my work computer, I'm not sure what is involved in switching sync computers. Am I taking too big of a risk in not syncing it until I get the Dell back? Hopefully some kind soul with more tech experience could offer some advice.

Thanks

Right...I know that...I just don't get the connection between the b & m. Sorry...not very witty here.

In the mean time...anybody know what to do with a crashed primary iTunes computer?

Larry, I was able to install iTunes on another computer and at least do a backup...should make you feel better.

Well, my computer didn't crash but I did switch computers that I was syncing to. My secondary iPad is a 64gig wifi that my wife and son share. I started syncing it on his laptop a couple weeks ago, then he decided that he would rather have my wife take care of the syncing. So I just installed iTunes on her computer, logged in to the Store with the same account, authorized this computer, and plugges in the iPad. It downloaded all the apps to the new laptop, but wouldn't copy any music or movies. So I will have to copy the music library from the other laptop to the new one.

I think that's the only downfall.
