Where do find or what program do you use to get cover art for your music collection? I don't have a scanner but want to have the album art available in itunes.

doesn't it only come with albums you buy from the store, or am i much mistaken?

http://www.allmusic.com/

find the album you are looking for and almost always they have the cover art for that album.

Just drag and drop the picture from your browser into that part of the itunes window.

to do the same thing for multiple songs, select all the songs you want and then drag the picture into the window and it will be added to all of the songs.

Does anyone know where to get high-pics of album covers. Amazon and others only have really small pics.

you could scan them in from the albums you own. otherwise, i think you will generally find yourself out of luck :D

You could try the official website for the bands themselves. Usually they have high resolution cover art available under their various and respective discography sections.

I just use Amazon.com. They have a huge selection of music and it is easy to search their site, so I can get the cover art with little effort.

I'll check out allmusic, though.

I was adding pics to itunes but for some reason now I can olny add cover art to a single song that is playing at that time. I have 4thousand songs and don't have the time to add them one by one.

if that doesnt work for copying them into itunes - search for clutter in finder. You will find an images folder named somthing like com.clutter.????.
Under that there is a CD folder and then a playlists folder. In there you will find the JPEGS.
Just Cmd-select all the songs for that file and drag the JPEG into the album art box.

All done.

It all worked great with amazon -- highlighting the album files then draging the pic to the "add ablum art" place -- but something happend and now I can only do one song at a time. I feel like I'm working on a pc. Anyone else have this problem, or have any idea what I am talking about?

if they have the larger view of your album at buy.com then that is the coolest place to get them.... they are huge! :)

If you have an iTMS account, you can get them all for free.

If you don't mind that they are not embedded in the actual track.

I use this. Grabs the same art from iTunes but in a .jpg format.

Considering I just tried searching for two of the biggest bands I can think of (The Beatles and Radiohead) and both came up with nothing, perhaps it is worth messing around with xml files ;)

Sorry should of said you need to fill out both boxes for it to find stuff. If you only fill one box it doesnt find anything. :D
