iTunes crashing when device in DFU mode attached

Is anyone else having or had this issue with iTunes 12? And yes, I've reported this but hoping to get quicker feedback from here.

I wanted to revert back to iOS7 so I put the device in DFU mode and then iTunes crashed and continued to do so whenever the DFU device was attached. Works fine when nothing or a working device is attached.

I thought I might try to install iTunes 11.3 but I can't install that w/ iTunes 12 installed and iTunes 12 can not be deleted.

“iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by OS*X.

Any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

UPDATE: I perused the rest of that thread and saw that updating XCode worked for some so I tired that first. Updated from Beta 3 to Beta 7 and that seemed to do the trick as well.
