iTunes Crashing?

Right,

I am successfully updated my iPhone to 4.0, my dad is curious to try it aswell so I put him onto my developer account however when trying to update him iTunes crashes out on the verifying iphone software part, we are trying it on a powerPC G5 powermac still running leopard if that helps, any information would be helpful.

His device's UDID is not registered and when it is not registered, iTunes will just crash.

I've deleted and re-added him but it still crashes.
