iPod iTunes credit retrieval?

I recently purchased a macbook pro (upgrade from a broken laptop), and when I went to set up iTunes, it didn't show my credit that I had leftover (from a gift card) once I logged in. It recognized my username, so it's not like I'm starting over clean, I just was wondering if there was any way to get that credit back. Thanks for any help.

All you can do is email apple iTunes support.

I presume this credit is from some time ago, and it somehow 'expired'?
