iTunes doesn't restore iPhone (sorta...)

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, and this is probably something stupid I'm doing, but check this out...

I had erased all contacts and settings directly on the phone (I was trying to get another problem resolved), then restored it through itunes. The phone works great, and it fully restored, but itunes still sees it as a new phone... is this weird or something dumb I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

No it is normal just click on restore the backup of____iPhone.If there is more than one just click on the most recent date..

i was also doing a trouble shoot with Rogers and they told me to make a backup and then make a new profile for my phone to see if the problem was just with my account on the phone.

Anyways, now I am trying to restore my old account so I can have my contacts, emails, etc back and my old one isn't showing now! Just the new one that rogers told me to create. Any way of finding the old one? I am extremely upset that everything is lost that he said would be there.
