Apologies if this has been brought up before but I couldn't find anything on it...but I seem to have stumbled upon a pretty large bug. Last night I tried to download a song on iTunes from my phone and when it got to "processing" my phone suddenly crashed and reset itself. After being reset I guess it automatically tried to download again and crashed again after a few seconds, resetting itself and repeating this a few times until I turned it off. I tried to exit all running apps (including iTunes of course) in the short time I had before it reset itself, and I was successful in doing this, but it still kept resetting.

This morning I turned it on just to see if anything would change, and luckily it required my iTunes password to continue the download so I didn't enter it and the phone is now running fine. Obviously the bug is due to something in processing the download.

Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like a pretty serious bug to me unless it's just some weird coincidence on my end.

iPhone OS 4.0 is not fully stable software for general release. It is meant for developers to develop their apps for it, and (to a lesser extent) to help Apple with working out the bugs on the OS.

It is certainly not meant for day-to-day use by anyone as their primary OS on their primary iPhone.

Of course, if you are a developer, then you'll be aware of the Developer Program avenues for reporting bugs...

I am a developer and yes, I was aware of reporting bugs/the software obviously not being stable yet, but this is a fairly large bug and I was surprised I hadn't heard of anyone else encountering it yet.
