Hi

I'm running iTunes 4.1.1.54 (most recent version) on Windows XP. Sound files (mp3s, accs, wavs, etc) all play fine, however i can't play or rip CD tracks using iTunes. iTunes does download the cd info from gracenote CDDB just fine. But when i click "play" it jumps from track to track, with a short pause between each, playing no sound. It seems to just recognize that the track is there, but not realize that there is any data in the track to play.

Side note: Windows Media Player and other players/rippers do it just fine still, so i'm pretty sure the problem is some sort of compatibility issue with iTunes.

Has anyone dealt with a similar problem and found a solution?

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

if you have a soundblaster pci card make sure that the audio port is connected from the card to the CD/DVD drive correctly. WMP and most other audio players for Windows have the ability to convert audio to digital on the fly and don't require this connection. iTunes may not do the conversion and may require that connection.

Yeah, I have it connected :) thanks for the tip though. Must be something else :-/
