It seems right after i upgraded to itunes 7.7 the day before the 3g launch my original iphone stoped being recognized by Itunes. It would also freeze and become unresponsive. I got the 3g and am still experiencing the same problems with both phones! any ideas?

I have the same problem since i installed iTunes 7.7, each time i plug my first gen iphone i get the spinning ball for about 5 minutes, and then it shows the iPhone... very annoying.

I've tried to reinstall iTunes but it's still the same.

I'm still on 1.1.4 is that the problem?

Same here.

After I updated iTunes to 7.7, I get the spinning ball for a minute or so every time I plug in my iPhone. My iPhone is 1.1.3.

Very annoying.

I have been having the exact same problem with my iPhone 3G after I got it. You said you found what the issue was and how to fix it? May I ask what you did exactly?

If you find out, please let me know. I'm having the same problem also.

My iTunes is freezing even with my iPod Classic. I plug in the Classic and beachball infinitely. Same with iPhone 2G.

Not sure what's going on but I've been able to sync my iPhone at intermittent times.

Let iTunes work :D. My iPhone is working now.

Don't unplug it so quick.
