Hey

My partner got send a gift on iTunes, it was Co Pilot app. He downloaded it onto his phone. But he wants it on my phone (got a 3GS and he's only got a 3G) because Im the one that needs it

Is there anyway I can download it again onto the iTunes on my mac so I can sync it with my iPhone

I've already signed into his account and tried to re-download it but it says it will charge it to his account.

Thanks

no way to if you both use different itune accounts, if you both used the same account then you could both have the same apps in one bowl even accross different computers, it's even easier if you use home sharing

what also might work is if you sign in and activate his itunes with your id and then get the app on that itunes (either by redownloading it or by copying it to a pendrive and copying it to his computer and then importing into itunes) then he might be able to sync it to his iphone along with his apps - but I dont know for sure if you can sync mulitple accounts to one iphone but I dont see a reason why it shouldnt work.

I'll tell you our wee set up

We have one mac, we share it. Both of us have our own iTunes accounts. We use to be able to download our own apps onto the one mac and share them. All we had to do is pop in the passwords (i know his, he knows mines).

But when I sign into his iTunes on the mac to redownload the app it says it will charge him again! even tho the app is in his name already!!

its really confusing me haha

ok so it's not on your computer but it is on his iphone, in that case if you connect his iphone to the computer and let it sync it should transfer a copy of the app to the computer (if it doesnt then right click on his iphone name in the device sidebar of itunes and click 'transfer purchases' this should now put the app on the computer) then all you should have to do is sync your iphone to the computer and the app should appear on you iphone. - that should do it

and just a quick question to confirm that it works, that if apps bought from different accounts can be used on the same iphone if the computer is activated with both account IDs?

Thank you!! I just got it working :D

And yeah, if you have 2 accounts with one computer and that computer is authorized for those accounts then you can share apps, music, everything you buy on iTunes
