iTunes: how do I force refresh of purchased movies?

I recently asked for and received a refund of a movie purchase, but iTunes on my Mac (and the corresponding app on my iPhone) has not removed that movie from its display of owned and playable titles. How do I force iTunes to refresh its list of owned titles so that movie gets deleted?
