Whenever I plug in my iPhone to sync it automatically starts the iPhone backup process which takes about 20 minutes.
This can't be normal, anyone else having same problem or found a solution?
Thanks!

I think it's normal and added with iTunes 7.7.

I'm waiting though to find a fix that will make that optional.

As someone else pointed out on another thread, you can hit the (x) button to cancel the backup and it will move on to the regular sync. This turns it into just a really annoying problem, but manageable.

I hope this is affecting a large enough number of people that this is a priority for them to fix.
