I moved my library to an external drive and have been adding to it for months - now there is 10X the content in my iTunes library than my iPod can handle. This is the first time I've synched since the move, so I had my iPod contents erased as the device thought it was a new library, but it couldn't move music & movies over to the iPod from iTunes because there isn't enough space on the empty drive. So, is there any way i can synch it before my flight tomorrow without going through an unchecking thousands of items in iTunes? Isn't there a sync option that will let iTunes fill it? If so where is it?

Deactivate automatic syncing, then go to the iPod's music page and select "Autofill" on the bottom "bar", towards the right (you'll see it). You can set it to pick music that you use the most. Go to settings, the button is next to autofill, and set up what music to import. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing, but it's really easy to do.
