Hey,

There seems to be something wrong with my mother's Iphone.
It just doesn't get connected to my PC, and even Itunes does not detect it. It does not even get charged from any station (USB and wall charger).
I tried restarting it and plugging it again, but still, there was no response. I also tried plugging it in using another cord.
Her iphone is currently on the 1.1.5 firmware and it's jailbroken. I didn't do an upgrade on it since she did not need all those applications.
As of now, it keeps on showing me the red battery icon and I can't boot it or do anything else. I also tried putting it in DFU mode, but it didn't work.
Even I have an Iphone and its on the 2.2.1 software. It has got hanged many times before but I've never had this problem.
What I want to do is just get it on for one time so that I can take the contacts and pictures from there cause my mother really wants them.

And so if there is no solution, is there a way to just copy the contacts from her phone??
Can anyone please help me???

Thanks :)

hi

i had almost the same problem. they rebooting by holding the home button and the power button at the same time. if it works good :)

but if it does not try this one

hold the home button while phone is still off. plug the cable to your pc still holding the home button. wait until the itunes+cable screen appears . then restore your iphone.

after restoring your phone will again be unjailbroken. :) but it will work fine. hope this helps:D

I tried rebooting it the way you said and the screen goes black and then it again shows me the red battery icon.

And now I'm doing the second thing, but it doesn't work. Nothing comes on the screen. Could you please tell me for how long I have to hold the home button??

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a 2G for 9 months and bout a month ago I tried to charge/sync it and my computer would not detect it. I tried the reboot and restore to no avail. After two days I took it in to the Apple store and was informed that my phones ports were damaged and that I would have to purchase a new phone.

Hope you did not have to go through the headaches I did. Good luck.

Hey

Well, I guess I'll have to go through it. I live in the UAE and my Iphone is jailbroken so I can't take it to apple. So I guess the only option is like u said - GET A NEW PHONE !!!

Anyways thanks for your reply and thanks to everyone for helping me out but I'm gonna go buy a new phone.
