When i plug my iphone into my computer, it gets listed as some sort of camera under my computer. when i open itunes its not under devices (infact its not there at all) i cannot access any music on it from my computer.

i'm about ready to pull my hair out... i have no clue how to make it sync up. (its a used 2nd gen)

any help would be appreciated

Have iTunes open when you connect, then it should be seen, or restart the phone while connected.

Beyond that, uninstall iTunes, and reinstall, that should fix whatever file is preventing iTunes from seeing it.

He said "My Computer" therefore Windows.
Doesn't Matter.
He can't see it at all so he couldn't jailbork it, and you can't unlock the 3G.

He said it's a used 2 gen. I took that to mean an original iPhone, which means it could be jailbroken and/or unlocked.

Why don't you offer some help instead of inaccurately picking apart my post?

Are you using the new USB adapter for the iPhone. I had my new 3G plugged into my old iPod adapter yesterday and that was happening to me too!

Changed the adapter back to the new one and all worked well.

it's a pc and it's not unlocked. I've tried my iPod cable and the one it came with. I'll try reinstalling iTunes when I'm off work tonight.
