Hi,

For the last few months, iTunes mysteriously freezes almost once a day. This requires me to force quit and then reboot in order for iTunes to work again. Do you think my ITL file could be corrupt? Is there a way to fix it without losing the metadata information like last played, number of plays, and playlists?

To add more mystery to this, I have my iTunes pointed toward my NAS where all my music and movies reside. The NAS has never given me any issues with iTunes before.

Another thought was to move the ITL and XML files to the music location on my internal SSD of my Macbook Pro and leave the actual music and movies on the external NAS. It seems this is possible from what I've read but haven't seen direct steps to do this. If I were to try this, would the steps be:
1. copy ITL and XML files to new location. Any other files?
2. Quit iTunes
3. Open up iTunes with option key to choose new library location.

And then I'm good to go? Or am I missing something? I also have Consolidate Library checked within iTunes, would I need to uncheck that option?

Thank you all in advance!
