I just uprgraded my Sawtooth to a 733. On the Sawtooth, I had the music on another HD. Now since I have a bigger HD, I want it back on the main HD. I have all the audio files, and I told iTunes the library is now on the HD, but it still links back to the Music HD. What is wrong? I tried editing the iTunes Library.xml (changing the path), but it still doesn't work.

My advice would be to tell iTunes to manage the library, tell it where you want the library to be, then add all of the songs from their current locations... iTunes will copy the songs to the internal HD, but you may lose things like playcount, since you'd be starting the library file from scratch. Otherwise, I'm not exactly sure, i will be watching this thread as i plan to move my music library to another HD soon... it's on a separate drive for now...

after messing with it for a long time, and it loosing every track, I finally found the option Consolidate Library. It worked but duplicated my whole library so it was 9 gigs instead of 4.5. Finally after restoring my library, and going into the library file with bbedit, I got it to work. I think apple needs to fix this bug.

I've had to do this a couple of times. If you ever have to do this again I've found this to be easiest. Erase your iTunes library and change where your files are located. Then drag your music files into iTunes library. It takes care of itself after that.
