I have my iTunes music and movies on my NAS. My iTunes library file is on the NAS as well. I’ve been told it should be on my Mac. What steps do I need to take to make the move smoothly? Thanks.

By who (Tim Cook:D) and why? You can have it wherever you want as long as iTunes is points to it. If you want to change it then:

iTunes>Preferences>Advanced Tab>Change and pick your location. It will then ask you (paraphrase) to Move/Consolidate and hit OK.

Is there a way to have my iTunes media folder on the NAS and the library database file on the Mac? Is it smart to separate the two?
