Okay so it said verifying to apple for 3 hours after I downloaded the software, now I decided to force quit itunes, it's now locked and my iphone doesn't want to work, it just says plug into itunes like the last 3 hours. Guess it's apple store in the morning?? Any help? Thanks!

I'm assuming you backed up all of your stuffz before you began this process I hope.

Restart your computer;
Start ITunes;
Verify you have 10.5 and the latest OS X if you are on a Mac;
Plug in your IPhone;
Select restore (if it doesn't do all it needs to do automatically when plugged in).

Make sure in the IPhone section of ITunes that you check each category (Music, apps etc) and that the sync button is checked.
