I was curious whether other people were having this problem. I like to sort my albums by release date in the "sort album" field in iTunes. And, while everything looks good on my Mac, most of my albums appear out of order on my iPhone 4 and Apple TV. So, for instance, take the Beatles: instead of seeing their first album, "Please, Please Me", first, I'll instead see "Abbey Road".

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Thanks!

I am the same way as you when it comes to albums being in chronological order. So I quickly looked at my iPhone (not my iPad but almost guarantee its the same) and all my albums are in alphabetical order. Seems like there is a setting somewhere that you should be able to change...I will post if I find any solution.

I just upgraded to iTunes Match as well... and the issue I had was that all of my albums that started with the special keywords: "The", "A", "An", or a series of punctuation, like ".", were all showing up in alphabetical order, while the albums that don't start with those characters are all showing up in proper order according to sort artist. That's annoying indeed.
