I am looking at switching from Amazon to iTunes Match. Amazon did not allow ALAC to be uploaded so thus I rip everything at 320kbps AAC.

My question is will Match allow lossless files to be uploaded in some way? I know it can "match" songs they already have, and I do not care if the uploaded version is 256kbps quality. I am not trying to use it as a backup service, I only use it to access all my music from devices. But if only allows matches, then that means I can't upload anything I want.

The short answer is no. It will take your ALAC and convert to 256Kbps AAC to upload.

Rumors are lossless music is (may be) coming to iTunes. However it's just rumors and unknown how this would relate to Match anyway.
