iTunes Match: Does Meta Data Changes Update Automatically Across Devices?

So ever since subscribing to iTunes Match, I haven't been able to have any meta data changes I make with regards to song/album titles update across all my devices (Macbook, iPhone 4, Apple TV). Whatever changes I make in iTunes stays in iTunes until I try to "Update iTunes Match" in which it will go back to how my previous metadata was. Rather frustrating, to say the least.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any fixes or just the nature of being an early adopter?

I am having the exact same issue. For example, I have several albums by The Ramones... Some of them have the artist "Ramones" and some "The Ramones" and whenever I change them to be all the same, iTunes match reverts the changes. It is also worth noting that even songs I uploaded (that were not matched) revert to the metadata when they were uploaded. This is a major annoyance as they will display under two different artists on my iPhone.

Interesting. The one "hack" around this I found was to set the meta data for the album as you want it, then highlight all the tracks on the album, drag it to a separate folder (say on your desktop). Then delete the album from iTunes (make sure to also delete it from iCloud), and then drag the folder back in. Then it will sync it to iCloud with that set of meta data.

It's a pain, but the only thing I've found to work so far. Hopefully a fix comes soon, because I'd really like to be able to have whatever changes I make sync across all devices... without reverting!

How to Manually Remove Individual Songs from iCloud

Do not delete your songs from iTunes - This will remove your play counts, ratings, etc.

To manually remove individual songs from iCloud follow these directions:

1) Quit iTunes
2) Hold down 'Option' and open iTunes
3) Click 'Create Library...'
4) Save the the new library to your desktop
5) Click on iTunes Match in the sidebar
6) Click 'Add This Computer'
7) Sign in and click 'Add This Computer'
8) Go back to Music and highlight all songs you want to remove from iCloud
9) Press Delete
10) Click Delete song(s)
11) Quit iTunes
12) Move the library on your desktop to the trash
13) You will now see a Cloud with an X through it next to all deleted songs in your original iTunes library

This doesn't seem to fix the metadata issues I'm having, but it's the best way to remove songs from iCloud individually. For some reason, when you edit the info of a song (genre, artist, etc.) iCloud will create a duplicate instead of updating the song info.

This better get fixed soon.

I do NOT have this problem. whenever I update any metadata it automatically updates the metadata on all other devices and the old metadata does NOT reappear after updating iTunes Match. I thought this was working fairly well (and I was surprised that it was).

The libraries I update are on Macs - are you using Windows?

For me it appears to be hit-or-miss whether or not the update is instant. Sometimes the changes are "pushed" right to the iOS devices right in front of my eyes. Other times I have to back out of the Music app, kill it in the task bar, and re-launch for changes to take effect.
