iTunes match works pretty well for me. Out of a little over 10,000 songs only ~600 had to be uploaded. Most of which were albums iTunes didn't offer.

For all my matched music since I had various bit rates on a lot of music and older music that I ripped that was only 128kbps I downloaded matched versions. On my primary iMac this worked awesome and all my songs were explicit versions and downloaded as such for my matched results. I added my work PC and downloaded an album and it downloaded the clean version of everything I tried. Has anyone else experienced this or is there something I was missing when adding the other computer? Even on my iPad all music plays back as the explicit version like it should be.

Maybe match works with the disable explicit content filter in iTunes, have you checked the work computer to see if this option was checked?

:confused::confused:
What about on an iPhone though? So I have explicit versions on my computer, but the matched version that I download from iCloud to my phone is edited. Examples: some songs, but not all of Dr. Dre's 2001, same with Jeezy's new TM:103 .. any ideas?

I am asking bout the iphone because there is no such explicit content filter in the Music settings...

Gotta admit i was pretty tripped out when the Watcher was blatantly edited, but man, it's pretty annoying. Don't feel very hard listening to edited jams lol

Quite annoyed by this as well. I purchased explicit music (yes I buy music) and I get a clean version when matched in iTunes. I like the idea of the service, but a Kanye song with a bunch of gaps in it just sounds stupid when you've heard the explicit version lol. Apple should include a setting to allow you to choose clean/explicit for your collection when matched.

You're looking in the wrong spot. Its under Settings/General/Restrictions then it's down toward the middle under "Allowed Content" Music & Podcasts. Make sure that's set to "Explicit."
See if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the tip, but I didn't even have restrictions enabled... Also, it was already set to explicit... Still having edited tracks when they should be explicit...

Also, has anyone noticed that it will just cut to the next song sometimes before the current track is done playing.. sooo annoying.

Yeah, this is pretty annoying, and I've left feedback already. You get a nice message that says something like, "We can't answer you personally, but we'll let you know if we need anything from you."

It might as well have ended with, "Now... p1ss off."

I got this from Apple, as well as 3 free song tokens:

________

Debbie here, taking over for Vinay today. I am a senior advisor, and your request was escalated to me for further assistance.

I understand that your iTunes library has explicit songs being matched with edited versions. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and I will be glad to look into this for you today.

This issue is still under investigation, however, I was advised that it may be resolved with the next iTunes update. Please watch for this update, and try again to match your songs once the update is released.

That was nice of them! I finally got a response today from Rajesh that said Apple is working toward a resolution, but not as much detail and no free tokens, either.

Great to see Im not the only one with this issue. I also just left Apple feedback on this issue as well as deleting the songs on itunes that were downloaded on the iphone from the cloud. Seems like everytime I delete a song on the phone, the song still shows up when my iphone is connected to itunes but in grey. Everytime I hit the delete button from itunes it goes away but then comes back (greyed out again) next time I sync it up... really annoying.

Glad to hear Apple finally admit there's a problem and say they're working on it. Hopefully this and other Match issues will be fixed soon, it's pretty sad that it has been a couple months already with little if any improvement.

I waited a couple of months in hopes the initial bugs had been worked out and dissappointingly I ran into this issue as well, worse is some of the clean lyric versions are awful and there isn't just the radio edits, the bad words play in reverse completely ruining the songs flow. (2pac's u cant see me is one that springs to mind).

Im also wondering if the purchase redownload option added to the itunes store recently also has the same problem.

Worse, I really cant think of a solution to the problem unless explicit tracks have some sort of unique identifiers.

Well, I was surprised to get a second email from the same support guy, and also five song tokens applied to my iTunes account. Also, a repeat of the "we're working on it" message.

It's a really nice gesture, but how long will it take to find all the messed up songs, and then replace them? Found another one today... Dr. Dre - "Big Ego's" is full of vocal cut-outs.

Like someone said, I "don't feel very hard listening to edited jams,"... hahaha

I have yet to even get a single reply at all. Glad to know they are working on the issue.

Fed up with the mismatching and the general mess that itunes match is right now i deleted my library and restored a pre-match library and I'm going to wait to see if these issues get resolved.

In my opinion match isn't ready from primetime.

i'd agree with you. i purchased this service but at this point it's so annoying and such a battery drain - i turned it off at least 2 months ago... 'cmon apple

They haven't. No improvement in the months since this service was released.

I've given up on expecting this to ever get fixed. You might want to follow up at the Apple support boards, probably still some people trying it out there.
