iTunes Match = iCloud Music? How to Delete?

Hello, i wanted to make sure I am understanding this right.

A couple of years ago, I had iTunes Match. Uploaded all my music to the cloud etc etc. I ended up not renewing as 1. I didn't find it worth it and 2. It wouldn't save the updated cover art album and revert back to the old art which I hated as it didn't fit in the album box which was a large pet peeve of mine.

I digress.

So I signed up to the free trial today and realized something terrible. It somehow repopulated my whole music list with the iCloud library I had uploaded a couple of years ago. Now the issue is, I have no idea how to effing delete my iCloud music (which I'm assuming is another word for iTunes match right?) WITHOUT an iTunes Match account. I sure as heck am not paying 25 just so I can access my iCloud library on a comp and delete it easily. There has to be another way though. Right now, because I don't have an iTunes match account, I have to manually go to each artist, press the three vertical dots, select "delete" and then "delete from iCloud Music Library."

Is there anyway to bulk delete my old cloud library. I'm trying to start anew.

Oh. I had no idea that 12.2 was scehduled to release. I hope it does make deleting easier.

The only other thing Im a bit puzzled at then at this point is, when you go to settings, then music, why would it even give you the option of turning on iCloud Music Library when a person DOES NOT have iTunes match? Logically, shouldn't that be disabled for a person without a subscription?

iCloud Music isn't just Match, it's everything you see in My Music. Imagine you just added a whole bunch of photos to iCloud Photo Library. It's all one library. You'll have to go in and delete things individually. If you have a lot i'd wait for iTunes 12.2. Managing your music library will be much easier and quicker. I've been dealing with this too.

If you go to my music on my phone, its absolutely blank. Since I started the free trial for Music, all my itunes match songs that I uploaded years back just came flooding in. All I want to do is nuke my iCloud library (AKA itunes match) so I can start anew. Yes, technically I can go to the settings/music and disable iCloud library but then it'll be nagging me in the back of my head that its still there but hidden.

While Match and Music might be two different things, theres quite a bit of overlap between the two.

Oh I see so you want to get back to a blank library? I think the quickest way would be to view by Genre (the drop down button below Recently Added) and delete entire genres. The point is that you can delete hundreds of songs by just deleting the one genre, and there's probably not too many genres to have to delete, compared to songs or albums.

Haha I thought about that. Only problem is I get real neurotic so I actually delete all the genre fields from the 25K+ tracks. I've been deleting them one by one but then I got a hand cramp. In hindsight I shouldve left those genres there. Now I wouldn't have this issue.

The only sorting method that allows me to delete the most songs at once is unfortunately the album sort view. Which at the end of the day only allows me to delete 12-15 songs a piece.
