iTunes Match iOS

So I finally upgraded to beta 7 last night and got into iTunes Match. Synced all my tracks from iTunes. Turned on iTunes Match....and now all my synced tracks are gone. They're all available to download off the cloud, so it's not like I couldn't technically download my iPhone playlist.

Is there an easier way to sync down my 3500+ tracks without using cloud download? Now that match is turned on, can I just sync tracks with iTunes? Is it because I had iTunes Match turned off before I synced everything? and only after everything was synced did I turn i on.

Any help would be appreciated

I am having the exact same problem. My library will disappear from my phone, and I am totally confused so any help would also be appreciated.

You have to sync your music from iTunes Match (iCloud). If I recall correctly it tells you that enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device will remove all music on the device.

So how do you "sync your music with itunes match?" After I turned it on in iTunes and on my phone the iphone wouldn't integrate with my car audio system anymore, the music category on my iphone for syncinc would disappear, etc. I'm just really confused. I wish they had a support topic for this on their developer site.

I know the feeling. My car sees all my playlists but skips them because there is "no music in them". The only work around I have found so far is the download all the songs I may want to listen to before hand. It sucks. But it seems like that is the only solution.

To make matters worse, all the youtube videos showing how fast it is (in my experience) lie. It takes a while even on wifi to start the download of the songs...

I have some questions about iTunes match.

1. Is there anyway to "test" your library to see if most of your songs are going to be matched? It makes no sense for me to pay 25 bucks for only half of my songs to be matched.

2. Not to say that I'm going to do this, but because theres theres a 25,000 song limit, say I only have 500 songs, whats stopping me from letting my friend give me his music and then just giving it back to him in the HQ?

So are they going to match songs out of my albums or entire albums?

For example, I have many albums that are named "AM Gold 1966 67, 68, and etc." which are the best sellers from that year, and have 20 songs each. So are they going to match the songs from these albums or am I going to have 20 original albums with one song per album?

I have only bought 3 songs (out of 3300) from itunes; I always buy albums. So I work by albums NEVER individual songs.

You can tell how many songs are matched based on how many it has to upload. What you can't tell is which songs were matched.

That's what I tried to say. I was giving a count of matched songs, but I have no idea what matched and what didn't. It's a little bit annoying. I have some songs that aren't worth the time to upload. I wish I could ignore them if they didn't match.

There is no manual match. Songs that are matched are matched. Songs that are not matched are then uploaded to Apple's servers for you to use from other devices.

I meant just checking the matched songs against your iTunes library. You do get a list of matched songs, right?

Since the last time I was able to have Match working there are some songs listed as "Matched AAC" under "kind".

Yes it does, even with Match turned off, its still a valid "kind" in iTunes that persists. Heres my experience with figuring out matched vs. uploaded.

Match runs and does its thing, then you're left with your library pretty much the way it was, with possibly some extra tracks from old store purchases you no longer have locally. Now, in this situation, all your tracks are going to be in their original format, meaning theres no way to tell matched from uploaded. To confirm status, I took a few tracks, ONLY AFTER HAVING A BACKUP, and deleted them from my library. The iCloud download icon shows up, you redownload, and tada, its either "Matched AAC file" or "whatever-your-original-format-was." Long and kludgy? Sure. Do I hope for better methods in the final release? You bet your you-know-what.
