Hi....

My itunes Match is not getting past Step 1: Gathering information about your itunes library.

I have authorized the computer, all my music plays fine, but the progress bar never moves from 0%. this happens on two different Macs.

I am using the latest beta 8 itunes. My music is normally on a network drive off of a windows server. However, I have also tried rebuilding the library so it copies all the audio files to the local hard drive to no avail.

I have left itunes alone for 7 hours and i just sits there. I have restarted itunes and rebooted the computer more times than I tell my wife I love her in a day (which is a lot).

any ideas?

thanks

turn off iTunes match, enable genius, let it finish, then turn back on iTunes match

I am having the same issue. I thought it was just the number of songs in my library. I am trying the Genius suggestion now to see if it works.

Thank you. I'm so glad that apple documented that little fire drill so thoroughly!

I can't wait for all the support they're going to have to dish out with the GM for 200 million users that may not have enabled (or may not want) genius turned on....

Other question...l. How do I tell which songs are "matched" and therefore theoretically better quality now? I have a whole bunch of regular old music that I'm pretty sure was just uploaded and not matched.

Worked Perfectly!

turn off iTunes match, enable genius, let it finish, then turn back on iTunes match

Thank you, FadedSoulz! This absolutely worked like magic with no further problems!

I guess I hadn't let Genius finish its run previously. Once it was done, I re-enabled iTunes Match, and away it went. For my 14,000+ music files, it took a while, especially to upload the 6,000+ songs not in iTunes, but once it was done... Wow! I can go to any computer, log in to my iTunes account and voila! There is all of my music, including Playlists. FANtastic!

Thank you, again!
