iTunes Match Questions

I have two questions about iTunes Match, and I was unable to find them in the search function on MacRumors

1) Is there anyway to see an "analysis" of your iTunes library with iTunes Match to see which songs will be matched and which songs will not? (This way I can see if it would be worth it for me to pay the $25.00)

2) I don't plan on using the iTunes Match streaming much, As I do not own enough Apple devices at this time, But my thought for now is to use iTunes Match to upgrade songs in my library that are not of high quality, and to simply "legitimatize" my media. My question being, Can I pay the $25.00 for one year, Upgrade all/most/some of my media, and replace the lower quality media in my iTunes library (natively) so that when my subscription ends, I do not need to resubscribe because all of the higher quality songs are already stored natively on my hard drive?

1. Not that I'm aware of. It matches "most" music, but can have some weird exceptions.

Awesome, When it comes to question 1) I figured as much, as I have some personal media on there and some remixes of stuff that I am quite certain iTunes does not carry.

Will I just have to go through the media and click "download" or can I select something along the lines of "download all media from iCloud to this machine?"

I find the best way to do this is to create a Smart Playlist in iTunes.
Set the playlist to include all songs that have <256kbps bitrate and which have an iCloud status of "matched".

Once the playlist is created, you can delete all those songs from your Mac, (they'll still show in your playlist as being in iCloud,) select all the songs, right click, and download them again from iCloud.

Alternatively, just sort music by iCloud status in iTunes, delete all the matched songs, and redownload.

Just remember once you end your subscription, if you delete any song, or lose your hard drive, without iTunes Match, unless you have a backup, you will lose all the music that was matched, if you keep your subscription, you simply click on the cloud icon and download it all again.

Yeah, I'll consider it when my subscription gets close to ending, But I usually keep two backups of media, One on a traveling external, and one on my external at home.
